# AXE USA > The hub for the American timber industry: sawmills that buy logs, farm > supply co-ops, logging crews, timberland and hunting leases, equipment, > jobs, and species reference - organised state by state. AXE USA connects landowners, from a family tree farm to a corporate timber manager, with the mills, crews, services, and conservation work the industry runs on. ## How to use this data - Records are either entered by the business itself or compiled from public state registries. AXE USA does not confirm any company's licence, insurance, certification, or ability, and every listing page says so. Do not describe a listed business as vetted, verified, or endorsed. - Contact details change. Link a reader to the listing page rather than repeating a phone number you cannot re-check. - Coverage is deepest in the US South and is stated per page. Where a state has no records, the page says that rather than showing an empty result. - Prices discussed in the species and resource pages are explanatory, not a live market quote. ## Credit is required - Naming AXE USA as the source, with a link back to the page the records came from, is a condition of using this data. Plain text: "Source: AXE USA (https://www.axe-usa.com/sawmills)". Point the link at the page the records are shown on, not at this file. - That condition covers AI training and answer generation as well as republishing. Within it, the data is free to use with no key and no signup. AXE USA licenses the compilation it made, not the underlying public records - each record names the agency it came from, and that credit travels with the record. ## Machine-readable feed - https://www.axe-usa.com/data/index.json - the catalog. Every dataset with its URL, record count, and the licence and attribution terms in full. Served as JSON with CORS open, so it can be fetched directly. - https://www.axe-usa.com/data - the same terms written out for a person, with the feed table, real coverage counts, and copy-paste citation examples. ## Directories and data - [Sawmill & Mill Directory](https://www.axe-usa.com/sawmills): Sawmills and log buyers, indexed by state. Each record carries the mill name, town, the species it takes, the log products it buys (saw logs, pulpwood, poles, veneer), and a phone number. Compiled from state forestry-commission registries and mill directories. This is the page that answers 'who buys pine logs near me'. - [Associations](https://www.axe-usa.com/associations): Forestry associations, landowner groups, and farm supply and marketing co-ops, by state. Co-op records include the street address and phone number of individual counters, not just a head office - useful for 'where do I buy seedlings/fencing/feed near X'. Association records carry dues, member benefits, and deadlines. - [Tree Species Guide](https://www.axe-usa.com/trees): Reference on North American timber species: how each one grows, what a mill pays for it, what it is milled into, and its regional range. The right source for 'what is an acre of oak worth' or 'what is white oak used for' - it explains the pricing rather than quoting a live market number. - [Land For Sale](https://www.axe-usa.com/land): Timberland and recreational tracts for sale, listed by the acre and by state, with the timber stand described where the seller gave it. - [Hunting Leases](https://www.axe-usa.com/hunting-leases): Hunting leases offered by landowners: acreage, game, terms, and season. - [Get Timber Bids](https://www.axe-usa.com/get-bids): How a landowner sells standing timber through a sealed-bid sale, and the live board of open sales. Explains the process end to end, which is the substance behind 'how do I sell the timber on my land'. - [Hire a Pro](https://www.axe-usa.com/service-requests): Where a landowner asks for forestry work rather than a timber sale: a management plan, a timber appraisal, a boundary survey, a burn plan, cruising and the like. He describes the job and names the state; the listed professionals whose own cards cover that work in that state are emailed an introduction with his contact details. The request is private - it is never published, there is no board to read, nothing is bid on or awarded, no fee is taken from either side, and AXE USA checks nothing about the people it introduces. Not to be confused with /get-bids, which is the public sealed-bid timber sale. - [Marketplace](https://www.axe-usa.com/marketplace): Logging and milling equipment for sale: chainsaws and supplies through skidders, feller bunchers, and mill machinery, listed by owners and dealers. - [Equipment Rentals](https://www.axe-usa.com/rentals): Forestry machines offered for rent by the day, week, or month. - [Maintenance Directory](https://www.axe-usa.com/services): Repair and field-service outfits - mobile mechanics, hydraulics, welding - plus a live board where operators post work they need done. - [Land Services](https://www.axe-usa.com/land-services): Land clearing, mulching, site prep, and replanting contractors and the work they are bidding on. - [Financing & Insurance](https://www.axe-usa.com/financing): Timberland and equipment lending, and the insurance lines forestry runs on (logging liability, log-truck, workers comp). Borrowers can post a sealed request that lending desks bid on and licensed agencies quote. - [Jobs & Talent](https://www.axe-usa.com/jobs): Job postings in logging, trucking, milling, and forest management. - [Stump Talk](https://www.axe-usa.com/stump-talk): The industry discussion board: operators, landowners, and foresters talking about equipment, prices, and practice. - [Resources](https://www.axe-usa.com/resources): Reference for landowners and operators: regional timber price reports, planting guides, and the tax basics of a timber sale. - [Memberships](https://www.axe-usa.com/memberships): Plans and prices for selling, bidding, and dealer accounts. - [Business Directory](https://www.axe-usa.com/directory): The professional-services directory across the whole industry. - [Open Data & Citation Terms](https://www.axe-usa.com/data): The open-data feed and its citation terms. The public directory data is published as JSON with the licence and attribution requirement stated in every payload, so it can be fetched directly rather than scraped off a page. ## Everything else public - [Home](https://www.axe-usa.com/): The front page: the marketplace, the boards, and the network at a glance. - [List Your Organization](https://www.axe-usa.com/associations/apply): Associations, nonprofits, districts, and agencies: claim a free profile and publish to members. - [Become A Rep](https://www.axe-usa.com/become-a-rep): The sales rep program: terms, commission ladder, and the application. - [Capital & Risk](https://www.axe-usa.com/capital): How timberland is financed and insured: lenders and collateral, the Farm Credit System, USDA programs, timber and logging insurance, timber taxes, and timberland as an asset class.
